About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager to join our team at Amazon's Fulfillment Center (FC) in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of engineering technicians to maintain site operations in a safe, standard, and efficient manner.
  • Work with the team and wider network to harness technical expertise and build solutions.
  • Support the Reliability Engineering Manager in implementing, recording, and auditing safety and statutory compliance programs.
  • Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide high equipment availability to internal customers.
  • Ensure sufficient technical coverage by organizing and directing the training program for the team.
  • Manage local projects or support Australia-wide projects as assigned by the manager.

A Day in the Life:

You will be based at one of our operational sites, providing practical guidance to your team and gaining a clear vision of site operations.

This involves collecting data, solving problems in a fast-paced environment, and creating an operational plan to improve site productivity and efficiency.

You will also have the opportunity to set up new projects that improve operational processes and equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a technical discipline.
  • Relevant experience in managing people in an engineering team.
  • Relevant experience as part of a maintenance team in an industrial or production environment.
  • Relevant experience in liaising and managing relationships between stakeholders, including third-party vendors.
  • Experience with automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of working with statutory regulations, such as compliance checks and machine safety protocols.
  • Experience of using data analysis tools and PLC-based control systems.
  • Experience with project management or Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma processes.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
