Tug Driver Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tug Driver to join our operations team in Adelaide. As a key member, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting trailers from dock to dock within a busy distribution centre.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in a similar environment, excellent driving skills, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You will work a mix of weekday and weekend shifts, which can be further discussed.

This is an ongoing, permanent position with regular hours and competitive pay rates. If you have a passion for driving and working in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a terminal tractor vehicle or prime mover, adhering to traffic laws and organisational safety protocols within the DC.
  • Efficiently and safely shuttle trailers from dock to dock in a fast paced and busy environment.
  • Follow designated routes to ensure on-time, safe and efficient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required.
  • Report any damage, incidents, or exceptions promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Secondary education or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of heavy vehicle driving experience.
  • Excellent driving record with no preventive accident in the past 12 months and experience working within a busy distribution centre.
  • Minimum HC Licence REQUIRED.
