Job Summary

This role is an opportunity to join a team providing electrical engineering services across multiple industries.

The ideal candidate will have strong theoretical and practical knowledge in HV/LV & E&I engineering, with experience in commissioning and maintenance testing of HV Power Transformers.

You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

As part of this team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and industry regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning and maintenance testing of HV Power Transformers;
  • Construction, assembly, and repairs of HV Power Transformers; bushing installation/replacement; onsite and workshop leak repairs;
  • Application of vacuum processes and performing oil filtration/degasification;
  • Assisting in preparing commissioning/testing documentation, test plans, and detailed technical reports upon completion of works;
  • Carrying out JSHAs (or equivalent) prior to commencing new works to identify hazards and implement controls;
  • Primary testing of HV/LV Transformers (Tan Delta, Voltage Ratio, Winding Resistance, Dielectric Response, SFRA, Oil Sampling).
Requirements
  • Unrestricted Queensland Electrical Fitter and Mechanic License;
  • Minimum 4 years' experience post-trade;
  • Valid Driver's License;
  • HV Switching Ticket preferred;
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards;
  • Proven ability to meet project quality, schedule, and budget requirements;
  • Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
