Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a key member of the laboratory, you will be responsible for conducting chemical and bacteriological analyses on in-line samples, finished products, and raw materials.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will also have a tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or a similar field and previous experience in a laboratory/testing supporting a food manufacturing operation is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct chemical and bacteriological analyses on in-line samples, finished products, and raw materials with high accuracy.
  • Communicate test results promptly and accurately to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain equipment calibration schedules and uphold housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Review laboratory performance using defined metrics such as calibration accuracy, customer service, budget compliance, and continuous improvement actions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or similar.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory/testing supporting a food manufacturing operation.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
