Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the firm's financial operations, with a strong focus on trust account management in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about finance and accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconcile trust accounts in accordance with law firm accounting rules and compliance obligations.
  • Use MYOB to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
  • Prepare and issue invoices in a timely manner and monitor receivables.
  • Ensure prompt settlement of accounts through effective client communication.
  • Prepare financial statements and perform internal audits.
  • Oversee payroll, BAS, and other statutory lodgements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to support management decisions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Mandatory experience in law firm trust account management with strong knowledge of compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in MYOB for trust accounting and general accounting functions.
  • Solid financial management skills including record-keeping, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
