At the University of Notre Dame Australia, we are seeking a skilled Careers Officer to join our team. As a Careers Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their career development journey, from their first day to 18 months post-graduation.

The role involves delivering initiatives and activities that enhance student and institutional understanding of and outcomes in graduate employability. You will provide one-to-one careers counselling to prospective and current students, and alumni, and coordinate and promote campus visits from prospective graduate employers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement initiatives to support student and institutional understanding of and outcomes in graduate employability.
  • Provide personalized careers guidance to students, alumni, and prospective students.
  • Coordinate and promote campus visits from graduate employers to enhance student career opportunities.
  • Collaborate with faculties to provide resources and advice on in-curricular support and industry engagement.
  • Utilize career software tools to support student career development and evaluate resources and user analytics.
  • Design and deliver workshops and resources to support students in their career development journey.
  • Work with the Prospective Student Office and Admissions Office to provide careers advice to prospective or new students at Open Day and other student events.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) and/or completion of an endorsed Career Development Graduate Certificate.
  • Registered professional membership with the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the careers field, ideally within the education or tertiary environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under general direction and take the lead on projects within a team.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to apply discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Support for the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
