About the Role

The successful candidate will lead our advanced prototyping facility, fostering innovation and collaboration across research, teaching, and industry. They will oversee the safe and efficient use of cutting-edge tools and provide technical advice across various disciplines.

This role requires a technologically adept problem solver with a strong focus on safety, quality, and leadership experience in technical fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and schedule prototyping jobs
  • Design and produce bespoke parts and prototypes
  • Provide technical guidance on mechanical, electrical, chemical, and architectural design projects
  • Lead inductions and training on workshop equipment and ensure compliance with WHS procedures
Requirements:
  1. Relevant degree or trade qualification and at least four years subsequent relevant experience
  2. Specialist skills and experience in high-quality design and manufacturing
  3. Advanced knowledge of 3D printing, scanning, and prototyping methodology
  4. Leadership capability and ability to inspire a team
  5. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
