About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineering Governance Lead to join our global Engineering team at BHP. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in defining and maintaining global engineering standards, processes, and systems.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and governing global engineering technical standards, processes, and systems.
  • Maintaining trusting and collaborative relationships with functional, asset, and operational stakeholders.
  • Providing technical expertise and supporting the implementation and management of global engineering requirements across BHP assets and operations.
  • Driving continuous improvement in our processes, systems, and technology.
  • Challenging thinking and acting as a conduit for change and innovation within a complex business environment.
  • Ensuring conformance with the BHP Charter, Global Standards, Code of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary education in Engineering.
  • Demonstrated relevant industry and/or mining experience in discipline engineering, preferably 10 years and above.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise on BHP Engineering global requirements, particularly across Asset Integrity, Engineering Information Management, and Management of Change.
  • Understanding of Functional Safety would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in BHP Risk Framework and processes.
  • Experience in asset and/or operational engineering teams, particularly in fixed plant equipment and infrastructure, is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of asset management, maintenance execution, maintenance planning, and reliability or production processes is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence to achieve optimal outcomes for the business within a matrix organization.
  • Strong technical aptitude and critical thinking.

Location and Roster

This role is based in Adelaide, Brisbane, or Perth and requires site travel. Flexible work arrangements are also offered.
