Principal Engineering Governance Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Engineering Governance Lead to join our global Engineering team at BHP.
The successful candidate will play a key role in defining and maintaining global engineering technical standards, processes, and systems, and will be responsible for ensuring conformance with BHP's Charter, Global Standards, Code of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, govern, and provide assurance against global engineering technical standards, processes, and systems.
- Maintain trusting and collaborative relationships with functional, asset, and operational stakeholders.
- Actively engage with BHP Assets & Operations globally, providing technical expertise and supporting them with implementation and management of engineering global requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and technology.
- Challenge thinking and act as a conduit for change and innovation within a complex business environment.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary education in Engineering, with at least 10 years of relevant industry and/or mining experience in discipline Engineering.
Strong knowledge and expertise on BHP Engineering global requirements, particularly across Asset Integrity, Engineering Information Management, and Management of Change, are essential.
Understanding of Functional Safety, BHP Risk Framework, and processes, as well as experience in Asset &/or Operational Engineering teams, particularly in Fixed Plant equipment and infrastructure, are highly desirable.
Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to influence to achieve optimal outcomes for the business within a matrix organisation, are required.
