Key Roles and Responsibilities

This position is an opportunity to lead a team of engineers and designers in the mechanical design office, supporting and mentoring their growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical design for complex systems, such as UAVs, aircraft, robotics, or automotive platforms.

A strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools) for 3D modeling and mechanical systems design is required. Practical knowledge of prototyping, fabrication, and testing of mechanical systems is also essential.

The successful candidate will be able to drive design reviews, design documentation, and continuous improvement practices across the team. They will also maintain a hands-on presence when needed—supporting prototyping, fault-finding, and system testing.

Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership or team management experience in an engineering environment.
  • Mechanical Design Expertise: Extensive experience in mechanical design for complex systems.
  • CAD Skills: Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools).
  • Prototyping and Fabrication: Practical knowledge of prototyping, fabrication, and testing of mechanical systems.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Aerospace Engineering Background: Aerospace engineering background with mechanical design experience.
  • Structural Design Knowledge: Knowledge of lightweight structural design and materials (e.g., composites, alloys).
  • Manufacturing Process Familiarity: Familiarity with manufacturing processes for precision mechanical components.
