Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting month-end tasks, including weekly and monthly financial reporting, processing journals, and managing balance sheet reconciliations. Additionally, you will be responsible for daily bank reconciliations, maintaining the fixed asset register, and handling BAS and FBT lodgements.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting
- Provide support for the Finance Manager in the areas of monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
- Supervise the Assistant Accountant and ensure accurate and timely results
- Accounting and Reconciliations
- Complete monthly accruals, prepayment, and allocation journals
- Drive accurate and piercing insights through the P&L review
- Prepare the balance sheet account reconciliations
- Reporting and Compliance
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to the business in line with Australian Accounting Standards and Statutory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of yearly financial and statutory reporting
- Other Responsibilities
- Prepare and lodge the FBT return
- Assist in audit processes as required
- Other accounting and business review functions as required
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a CA/CPA qualified Financial Accountant with substantial experience in private enterprise settings. Your background should highlight success in implementing best practices and demonstrating your ability to function as a natural business partner. You should thrive on optimising value and efficiency in processes and reporting. Proficiency in Excel is essential, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Your unwavering work ethic is a cornerstone of your professional pride.
