Job Summary:

Challenge Community Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Professional to join our team. As a Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging, creative activities.

About the Role:

The Support Professional will be responsible for:

  • Providing individualized support to clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enhancing their quality of life.
  • Engaging clients in creative activities, such as cooking, music, crafts, leisure sports, reading, singing, and more.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is confident in engaging with clients effectively and building positive relationships.
  • Is resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Has strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Is flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Has proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • Has a valid Australian Driver's License and Working With Children Check.
  • Is able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
  • Has full COVID vaccination status.
  • Has experience working with high-needs Disability clients.
  • Has a Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable).
  • Has demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable).
  • Has handy craft skills (sewing, knitting, crocheting) (desirable).
