We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Professional to join our dedicated team at Challenge Community Services. As a Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing essential assistance to our high-needs clients, aiding with personal care and daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personalized support to clients with complex needs, including those who use wheelchairs and have additional medical requirements.
- Assist with daily tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Support clients in developing and maintaining their independence, promoting autonomy and self-advocacy.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless care and support for clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in disability support.
- Confident and effective communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Resilient and self-assured, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage complex situations.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks, problem-solving, and adapting to changing circumstances.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
- Full COVID vaccination status.
- Experience working with high-needs Disability clients.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable).
