Job Title: Cybersecurity Expert

This role is pivotal in safeguarding an organisation's digital infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient IT operations. The successful candidate will monitor network security, respond to cyber threats, maintain system integrity, and provide technical support.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and best practices. They will be responsible for monitoring network traffic for security incidents, analysing anomalies, and identifying potential vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyse network traffic for security incidents, anomalies, and unauthorised access
  • Investigate and respond to security breaches, containing and mitigating risks promptly
  • Configure, manage, and audit firewalls, network ACLs, and encryption protocols
  • Oversee and maintain AWS networking components such as VPCs, subnets, security groups, and network ACLs
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and address weaknesses
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update security policies and procedures in line with current threats and best practices
  • Manage endpoint protection and ensure all devices are compliant with security standards
  • Oversee user access controls, ensuring least-privilege principles and proper authorization to critical systems
  • Educate and train employees on cybersecurity awareness and safe IT practices
Technical Infrastructure & Device Management:
  • Set up and manage Microsoft 365 email and OneDrive including user accounts, licensing, and permissions
  • Oversee email accounts and software licenses
  • Handle onboarding and offboarding of devices
  • Perform routine maintenance on systems reliability and security
  • Support data backup and recovery processes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor in Information Technology or similar
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong communicative skills to liaise effectively with multiple departments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges, resolve issues, and implement effective solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, including email setup, licensing management, and OneDrive maintenance
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools to detect and respond to threats
  • Competence in backup and disaster recovery procedures for data protection
