Teaching and Research Leader in Secure Software Systems

The University of Queensland invites applications for a mid-senior level teaching and research position in Software Engineering and/or Cyber Security. As an Associate Professor, you will lead teaching and research initiatives within the Cyber Security and Software Engineering discipline, driving innovation and excellence in secure software systems and cyber resilience.
About This Role
- Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
- Maintain a strong record of high-impact research as lead contributor in top-tier international journals and disciplinary publications.
- Initiate and lead competitive research funding applications as chief investigator, transfer research outcomes to end users, and commercialize UQ intellectual property.
- Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
- Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.
Requirements
We are seeking an exceptional individual with a PhD in Software Engineering and/or Cyber Security, a sustained record of excellence in teaching and research, international recognition, and a strong publication profile. The successful candidate must also have proven success in securing and managing significant research funding, experience in leading research teams, and expertise in curriculum design and pedagogical innovation.
