Financial Operations Specialist

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. The role involves driving transitions of work between team members and supporting accounting leaders in a variety of tasks. This position is ideal for someone with a background in financial operations and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a qualified accountant role, tertiary qualifications in Commerce/Business majoring in accounting, and be professionally qualified as a CA or CPA. They will also have experience in management and financial accounting, knowledge of tax compliance, and strong reconciliation skills.

In addition to the required skills and qualifications, the ideal candidate will have advanced Excel skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and high attention to detail.

This is a 1 year term contract with opportunities to learn and assist across different business units within the group.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive transitions of work between team members and support accounting leaders in various tasks.
  • Partner with team leaders to ensure tasks and workloads are assigned fairly and pragmatically.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and help staff implement these improvements.
  • Support month-end accounting processes and prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations within agreed timelines.
Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in a qualified accountant role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce/Business majoring in accounting.
  • Professionally qualified as a CA or CPA.
  • Experience in management and financial accounting.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance.
  • Strong reconciliation skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
