The Role of Mechanical Fitter is crucial in supporting the Defence industry by ensuring effective and sustainable delivery of operations, maintenance, asset management, and fuel supply services across 100 locations nationwide.

UGL plays a vital role in supporting the Australian Defence Force by providing expert technical solutions to meet their requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Operations & Maintenance team at Pearce RAAF Base, Perth WA.

This would be a great chance to work in the Australia Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation. The successful applicants will be part of a core crew of UGL technicians and will be based at Pearce RAAF Base with occasional regional travel across WA.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
  • Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel related assets and equipment
  • Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment
  • Support subcontracted work packages as required

The rates for this position are as follows:

  • Level 1 - $47.07 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
  • Level 2 - $50.67 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
  • Level 3 (Dual Trade) - $54.28 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)

You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee who will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes. We expect the successful applicants to have the following:

  • Trade qualified (mechanical) with relevant post-trade experience
  • Proven experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas
  • Experience working within the defence fuels network or defence industry will be highly regarded
  • Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded
