Job Description

This role oversees the safety and supervision of underground mining operations. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all statutory legislative requirements are met, as well as monitoring production targets to ensure they are achieved safely.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Supervising workers in underground mine areas to ensure safe working practices
  • Conducting regular inspections to identify potential hazards and implement controls

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of mining operations, with experience in managing teams and implementing health and safety procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A Third Class Certificate (QLD/NSW/Mutual Recognition)
  • Previous experience working as a mine deputy in underground coal operations
  • Experience performing statutory inspections in accordance with legislation
