About the Role:

Global Skilled Employment Services is currently seeking an experienced Chef to join their kitchen team in a restaurant. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality and consistency
  • Regulating temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
  • Preparing and cooking food to meet customer demands
  • Seasoning food during cooking to enhance flavors
  • Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
  • Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain quality
  • Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Training other kitchen staff and apprentices as needed

Requirements:

  • AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher equivalent
  • At least 3 years recent relevant work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-volume kitchen environment

Location: Sale, VIC 3850 and Traralgon, VIC 3844. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
