About the Position

The Community Connect Worker is responsible for delivering responsive assistance tailored to the unique needs of community members. This involves connecting individuals and families with available resources and services, while also building their skills and capabilities.

The position operates within a collaborative team environment, guided by professional judgment and evidence-based practice. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience in community services, social work or a similar field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide short-term assistance to community members as needed
  • Connect individuals and families with local resources and services
  • Develop and implement strategies to build skills and capabilities in community members
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to achieve community goals

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in community services, social work or a similar field
  • Valid 'Working with Children' Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver's licence
  • Experience working with crisis and emergency/disaster service delivery models
  • Knowledge and experience with child-aware practice frameworks
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures
