Preconstruction Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Estimator to join our team in Charlotte, NC.

  • Prepare comprehensive estimates for construction projects by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and RFP's.
  • Solicit projects and obtain quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes to confirm scope.
  • Develop preliminary construction schedules for estimating and preconstruction.
  • Prepare conceptual estimates and budgets for projects.
  • Develop relationships with subcontractors for the solicitation of bids.
  • Participate in the interview process as required.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, owners, architects, engineers, and project teams.
  • Participate in site meetings/walkthroughs and accurately interpret existing conditions.
  • Prepare, coordinate, review, and distribute construction estimates.
  • Update unit, labor, material, and equipment rates in cost databases to keep them current.
  • Prepare reports and analysis pertinent to construction estimating as requested.
  • Maintain estimating schedules for all priced projects.
  • Collaborate with accounting and project management to ensure proper turnover of estimates.
  • Assist in initiating and holding project turnover meetings with project management post award.
  • Familiar with contract administration and capable of assuming these duties, as directed.
Requirements:
  • Previous commercial construction precon/estimating experience is essential.
  • A strong understanding of the Charlotte, NC construction market is required.
