Workshop Lead and Diesel Technician

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities of a busy workshop. This includes supervising and coordinating the work of other technicians, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance and repair activities to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including adherence to NHVR guidelines.
  • Manage technician personnel and resources to optimize workshop efficiency.
Technical Skills:
  • Diagnostics: Identify and resolve mechanical issues in diesel engines and heavy vehicles.
  • Servicing and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and fluid level checks.
  • Component Replacement: Repair or replace malfunctioning components.
  • Specialized Repairs: Handle repairs on specific types of equipment or vehicles.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Ensure all work meets quality standards.
Leadership and Management:
  • Supervision and Coordination: Oversee the work of other technicians and apprentices.
  • Scheduling and Resource Allocation: Plan and allocate jobs, manage workshop resources.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Workshop Operations: Manage day-to-day operations, maintain a clean and safe working environment.

  • 5+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills and organizational skills.
