Job Overview

The Campus Learning Adjustment Leader is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Learning Adjustment Program at their campus, including NCCD, New Arrival/Refugee, EAL/D, ATSI and CALD Programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Learning Adjustment Officers, speech pathologists, educational psychologists, CALD Leaders, and teachers to develop and implement programs that support student learning.
  • Organize diagnostic assessments, testing, and profiling in consultation with Psychologists/Counsellors, Speech Pathologists, and other agencies.
  • Ensure funding and compliance requirements are met, including NCCD, ATSI, and other grants supporting educational outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain profiles on SIMON for learning adjustment students.
  • Support teachers in developing Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet the needs of students with special needs.
  • Coordinate timetables for learning adjustment staff and manage daily casual replacement staff.
  • Chair and coordinate Program Support Group (PSG) meetings and maintain current professional development.
  • Assist with student enrolment and transition interviews and promote partnerships between schools and the community.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs in facilitating growth for learning adjustment students.

  • Influence teachers to build their capacity and enhance their practice.
  • Hold knowledge and experience in legislation pertaining to students with disability.
