**Position Summary**:
The role of the Learning Adjustment Leader is to lead the implementation of the Learning Adjustment
Program at their Campus. This includes implementation of NCCD, New Arrival/Refugee, EAL/D, ATSI
and CALD Programs. The Learning Adjustment Leader is to ensure there is effective communication
with students, parents and staff. They will coordinate the use of physical resources and staff resources
to effectively implement the required programs.

The Learning Adjustment Leader will have a full understanding of Child Safety requirements at the
College and will ensure that learning adjustment programs promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion
of all children.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To lead the Learning Adjustment Team at the campus including Learning Adjustment Officers,
- speech pathologist, educational psychologist, CALD Leader and all teachers in terms of learning
- adjustment
- To organise appropriate diagnosis, testing and assessment in consultation with the
- Psychologist/Counsellors, Speech Pathologists, Heads of Houses and Care Group teachers with
- outside agencies when additional testing is required. Update, storage and maintenance of all
- relevant documentation
- Funding and compliance requirements including those relating to NCCD, ATSI, New
- arrivals/Refugees and other grants as relevant to supporting educational outcomes for

individual
- students
- Be the point of referral for staff if they feel students need assessment and/or support
- Develop and maintain profiles on SIMON for learning adjustment students
- Coordinate the preparation, implementation and assessment of progress for common goals for
- learning adjustment students
- Support teachers with the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Personal
- Learning Plans (PLPs)
- Liaise with the Pathways and Programs Leader in relation to student transition
- Working with the VCAA Coordinator to arrange special provision for VCE examinations and
- assessments
- Collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to meet the requirements of students
- with special needs including health care professionals
- Develop timetables for learning adjustment staff
- Coordinate daily casual replacement staff to covering staff absences as booked by the Campus
- Organiser
- Chairing and coordinating Program Support Group (PSG) meetings, keeping all relevant
- documentation of these meetings and implementing any outcomes
- Maintaining current personal professional learning including a working knowledge of legislation
- pertaining to students with disability
- Assist with student enrolment and transition interviews
- Promoting the development of school community partnerships to support stronger links with
- parents
- special examination arrangements
- Attend classes to coach teachers
- Be a leader of professional learning through leading workshops, Learning Sprint practice and
- coaching
- Measure the effectiveness of the College to facilitate growth for learning adjustment students
- Contribute to positive professional dialogue among staff including sharing and celebrating

effective
- practice in relation to facilitating learning for learning adjustment students
- Supporting other learning and teaching events and projects
- Membership and/or leadership of teams according to St Francis Xavier College Learning and
- Teaching Leadership Teams Outline
- Demonstrate active support for College and major campus events, activities and programs from
- across all elements of the College Game Plan
- Any other duties as directed by the College Executive consistent with the skills and experience
- required for this position
