About Us

The Head of Humanities plays a pivotal role in driving the delivery of curriculum within the Humanities subjects and activities across the Secondary College. This individual oversees the Humanities Department and teachers, providing effective leadership to develop engaging programs that foster a love for Humanities subjects among students.

Key Responsibilities
  • To plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching programs in line with Australian Professional Standards, QLD curriculum frameworks, and educational trends.
  • To contribute to the Secondary leadership of the College, supporting and enacting strategic teaching and learning priorities.

This position requires a strong commitment to the Christian ethos of the College, with the ability to demonstrate an active faith and church involvement. The successful candidate will be an Australian-qualified teacher with QLD Teacher's Registration or registration with another state, able to obtain QLD Teacher's Registration.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • A combination of Humanities subjects, including Senior Business, Legal Studies, Modern History, Social & Community Studies, and Year 7-10 HASS, as the main teaching set.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for educating young people, with the ability to build connections and rapport while maintaining professionalism.
  • Energetic and positive attitude.
