The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the care of patients presenting to the Orthopaedic department, working closely with senior medical teams and other healthcare professionals. This is a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive clinical exposure across metropolitan and remote settings, advancing your career within Australia's largest public health system.
About the Role- Manage patient care in consultation with senior registrars/fellows, consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement and continuing education activities.
- Maintain high standards of patient care for inpatients and outpatients.
- Keep accurate records of patient care.
- Provide effective and accurate clinical handovers at shift changes.
- Commence discharge planning early, ensuring drugs and equipment are ordered.
- Implement administrative procedures consistent with unit registrar duties.
- Maintain communication with patients and relatives as appropriate.
- General registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Postgraduate experience in Orthopaedics to PGY level 3 or higher.
- Proven experience delivering high-quality care consistent with National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.
- Past experience in clinical departments of teaching hospitals.
