The Special Education Support Professional will provide individualized support to students with special needs in a variety of settings, including general education classrooms and specialized instructional environments. The role involves assisting students with various needs related to academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in achieving their educational goals">
  • Participate in learning activities off school grounds as needed">
  • Support students in general education classes and/or specialized instructional settings throughout the school day">
  • Provide individualized or small group reinforcement of instruction as needed">

Requirements:

">

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess knowledge of child development, instructional strategies, and practices applicable to assignment. They will also have the ability to assist with implementation of the instructional program, participate in monitoring and ensuring appropriate student behavior, and communicate effectively with children, young adults, and staff members.

Education and Experience:

">

A minimum of an Associate?s degree is required, with a Bachelor?s degree preferred. College course work should include a minimum of nine credit-hours related to the education field. One year of experience working with students in structured educational situations is preferred, while two to four years of experience working with children and adolescents in a structured setting such as a daycare or preschool is required if no related education course work.

Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary range of $25.40 to $38.15 per hour, based on years of service. A comprehensive benefits package is also available, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

This position may require specific training in order to successfully fulfill the role. Outside duty may be required, and the ability to accommodate flexible scheduling and change of location and/or program is necessary.
