About the Role

The Injury Management Specialist plays a critical role in supporting our people and leaders in managing injuries and workers compensation claims at Estia Health.

This position works closely with the National Health and Injury Manager to drive a sustainable health and safety culture and performance across the organization.

The Injury Management Specialist ensures that employees are proactively supported in their injury recovery and claims are managed in accordance with legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide early intervention support and management to injured employees, including completion of care calls, referrals to early intervention programs, and preparation of return-to-work plans.
  • Manage a portfolio of injury cases, including consultation and collaboration with injured workers, treating practitioners, and leaders to support injury recovery and return-to-work planning.
  • Manage submission of workers compensation claims for Victoria, including preparation of necessary documentation, such as incident investigations, witness statements, and role statements.
  • Maintain injury and claims data, including financial, medical certificates, and claims documentation from insurers.
  • Support the management of legal claims and disputes.
  • Undertake completion of monthly claims and injury reporting.
Supporting Continuous Improvement
  • Support and provide expert guidance to senior leaders and managers on the management of workplace injuries and workers compensation claims in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external claims reviews to support the development of strategic and commercially sound plans.
  • Proactively manage workers compensation claims to facilitate sustainable recovery and return-to-work.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Business Partner to develop and implement evidence-based injury prevention programs.
Fostering Relationships
  • Manage and establish positive relationships with Estia Health's workers compensation agents, rehabilitation consultants, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective management of workplace injuries.
Supporting the Broader HSW Team
  • Assist in developing and managing the Company WHS System and processes.
  • Provide regular updates on HSW performance across the area of responsibility.
Professional Development
  • Participate in internal People and Culture activities.
  • Take responsibility for their own professional development.
  • Role model Estia Health's Principles and Values.

The successful candidate will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or Allied Health, or equivalent prior experience, and a minimum of 4 years of experience in an WHS and Injury Management/Rehabilitation role in Victoria, with a proven track record in delivering effective workplace injury performance results.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to engage with external and internal stakeholders.

They will also possess high-level planning, time management, and prioritizing skills, as well as the ability to create positive working relationships and influence across a broad range of stakeholders.
