Principal Power Systems Engineer Role

This dynamic position offers a unique opportunity to drive technical excellence in power system studies, leveraging tools like PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and Hypersim. As a Lead/Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will guide the technical delivery of complex studies and ensure seamless integration with the grid.

  • In this pivotal role, you'll have the chance to lead innovative design and engineering solutions, oversee project controls and subcontractor management, and conduct site inspections to deliver cost-effective outcomes.

You will be working on end-to-end grid connection processes, bringing your expertise in delivering complex, high-voltage grid connection projects across design, build, and commissioning phases.

About You

We are seeking a driven and experienced professional with a passion for power systems and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
  • Around 7+ years of hands-on experience delivering complex, high-voltage grid connection projects ideally across design, build, and commissioning phases
  • A strong focus on HSEQ, with a knack for inspiring teams and driving great results commercially and for our clients
  • Great people skills - you know how to build strong relationships, communicate clearly, and work with customers and senior stakeholders to find the best way forward
  • Chartered status with Engineers Australia and RPEQ registration (or actively working towards it and keen to get there)
