Supporting Independence in the Community

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

About the Role
  • Provide individualized support to clients with varying levels of intensity, including those with complex needs and behaviors of concern.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized plans that promote independence and community participation.
  • Conduct daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management, while maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to professional boundaries.
  • Assist clients with mobility and communication impairments, using appropriate aids and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and concerns, reporting these to relevant authorities as required.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working as a Disability Support Worker, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Vaccinations (including COVID), CPR & First Aid, right to work in Australia, 100 Points of ID, Driving Licence, and access to a reliable car are essential.
  • Cert III Individual Supports, Cert IV Disability and/or Mental Health Care Qualification, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders, using active listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate empathy, understanding, and respect for clients' autonomy, dignity, and rights.
