About the RoleThe Talent Wellbeing Lead is a key position within our Mental Health and Wellbeing team, responsible for leading and managing a team of Wellbeing Coordinators who deliver a comprehensive wellbeing program for young athletes in our Talent Pathway programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of Wellbeing Coordinators to design and deliver a wellbeing program for adolescent athletes, including individual support and group activity-based learning.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement wellbeing strategies for adolescent athletes in the football environment.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across the AFL's Talent Pathway, including coaches, clubs, player agents, administrators, and high-performance staff.
- Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of wellbeing programs and initiatives.
- Advocate for and lead the implementation of Safeguarding Children policies to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for young people.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Health, or a related field.
- Extensive experience leading a team of high-performing staff.
- Previous experience working with adolescents and their support networks.
- Knowledge and experience of the high-performance sport system.
- Understanding and experience with Safeguarding Children processes and practices.
