About the Health Service

This 700-bed regional tertiary centre supports over 300,000 people across the Loddon Mallee region and is committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centred care. The Neurology unit plays a central role in the hospital's vision of becoming a regional centre of excellence in neurological medicine.

The Role

As a Consultant Neurologist, you will contribute to inpatient and outpatient neurology care while expanding the department. Your responsibilities will include providing specialist input for acute and complex neurological presentations, running outpatient clinics, and participating in stroke and neurology pathway development.

  • Provide specialist input for acute and complex neurological presentations.
  • Run outpatient clinics and provide consults to inpatient teams.
  • Contribute to diagnostic and neurophysiology services including EEG, nerve conduction studies, and (future) EMG.
  • Participate in stroke and neurology pathway development.
  • Mentor and teach junior doctors and contribute to service quality initiatives.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, you must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent overseas specialist qualifications, passion for service development and clinical leadership, teaching, clinical governance, and research participation skills.
