Job Role: Young Adult Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support young men with disabilities on their journey to independence.

Your role will involve collaborating closely with individuals with disabilities, their families, and support teams to develop personalized support plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting young adults with disabilities in developing daily living skills, such as cooking, personal care, and fostering independence.
  • Facilitating community participation and promoting inclusion and equality.
  • Developing, implementing, and documenting individualized support plans, ensuring needs and goals are being worked towards.
  • Maintaining accurate records of participants' physical or emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborating with other support workers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate services and resources.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a similar role.
  • Certificate IV in disability or a relevant qualification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support young adults with disabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
