About NSW Institute of Sport

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to oversee the collection, analysis and interpretation of sports data for targeted sport programs. This includes implementing and maintaining data systems, conducting data analysis to support decision making and performance optimisation, and developing insights and recommendations to inform program design and athlete development.

Working closely with counterparts from external stakeholders (National Institute Network, National Sport Organisations, Australian Institute of Sport) to ensure alignment and integration with the national high-performance system.

About You

  • 3+ years experience working with elite athletes and coaches in a high-performance environment in a similar or related role.
  • Ability to work with various data sources, platforms and software.
  • Proven project management skills as evidenced by formal qualifications and/or informal learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts, data and analytics in a coach and athlete friendly manner.
  • Collaborative team player with high level of personal initiative and autonomy.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. data analytics, sports science, statistics).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. R, Python, Excel) and visualisations (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
