The role of a Traffic Management Operative Trainee involves installing, maintaining and removing temporary traffic management equipment such as cones, signs, frames, sandbags and other apparatus to ensure road workers and users stay safe during roadworks.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment with the chance to gain valuable experience in a short period of time.

We handle a wide range of tasks including setting up temporary road closures, diversion routes and pedestrian walkways. Our work is highly visible nationwide and requires careful planning, design and collaboration with suppliers and customers to ensure effective schemes that enhance safety and reduce our carbon footprint.

This is a 12-month fixed term position with a guaranteed number of hours and overtime opportunities available. You will have access to a comprehensive benefits package which includes holiday entitlement, bonus perks, health and wellbeing support and volunteering opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing, maintaining and removing temporary traffic management equipment
  • Undertaking traffic counts, communicating with clients and subcontractors, managing timings and reviewing near-misses

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Temporary Traffic Management Basic Course (TTMBC)
  • Full driving licence with no more than 6 points; any driving bans must have expired at least 5 years ago
  • Valid safety critical medical certificate
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, flexibility and meticulous attention to detail
