The role of Northern Region Underwriting Manager, Professional involves driving business expansion and inspiring stakeholders to achieve their objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop underwriting strategies for new and renewal PI business aligned with allocated authority levels.
  • Deliver planned underwriting results for new and renewal business and identify requirements to meet regional needs.
  • Lead and manage a team of PI underwriters, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Be accountable for the PI Regional Growth Strategy.
  • Provide regular End of Month Reporting on the PI book.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating individual risk underwriting actions with other departments to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction while meeting production goals.

They will also provide regular guidance and leadership to the local PI underwriting team to achieve specific line of business and corporate strategic objectives.

Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Communicate organizational goals with team members and clarify expectations.
  • Monitor employees' productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Oversee employee performance; organize regular 1:1 meetings to discuss performance, address underperformance, conduct annual reviews, and support setting annual goals.
  • Offer guidance, support, and mentoring to employees.
