Job Summary:
The Kinship Care First Supports Program aims to support children in statutory kinship care placements where child protection is involved. As a Kinship Case Contracting and First Supports Professional, you will undertake comprehensive assessments and provide recommendations to ensure the placement's suitability.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough risk assessments, identifying factors that may impact placement stability and child safety.
- Provide expert advice to Child Protection on the suitability of kinship care placements.
- Support children to settle within the placement and help kinship carers respond to their individual needs.
Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in social work or a related discipline.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families with complex needs.
- Strong communication and assessment skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Best Interests Framework.
