Kinship Placement Support Specialist

The Kinship Care First Supports Program provides assistance to children in statutory kinship care placements where child protection services are involved.
We seek a skilled professional to undertake comprehensive assessments and provide recommendations to child protection about the suitability of kinship care placements.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential risks and strengths of each placement
- Develop and implement plans to promote placement stability and prevent unnecessary residential care
- Collaborate with kinship carers to support their role and provide resources to enhance their ability to respond to the child's needs
- Work closely with child protection services to ensure the child's safety and wellbeing
- Qualification in social work or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working with children, young people and families with complex needs
- Strong risk assessment skills and excellent communication skills
