Job Overview

This is a senior legal position that plays a key role in complex corporate transactions and M&A activities.

The successful candidate will provide clear, practical advice across a wide range of retail banking matters, guiding governance, regulatory and transactional matters.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of the legal and governance workstreams for complex M&A and strategic transactions.
  • Provide expert advice on corporate governance, directors' duties, and compliance with relevant frameworks.
  • Support retail banking operations with clear guidance on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Engage confidently with Board and executive stakeholders, and manage relationships with external counsel.
Requirements
  • 8–12+ years' PQE in corporate advisory or M&A, ideally with experience gained in private practice and/or an in-house financial services legal team.
  • Strong technical expertise in corporate law, with the ability to advise on complex transactions and regulatory matters.
  • Commercial, hands-on and solutions-focused, with a proven ability to work autonomously and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
