Job Description

The Hsse Advisor will support the project team with coordinating and implementing the HSSE Management program, providing field support on safety, occupational health and environmental issues, and monitoring objectives and targets to ensure full implementation at locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of project HSSE requirements, specifically the HSSE plan, ensure full implementation and on-site availability of the plan for project staff.
  • Facilitate and provide support and guidance on effective HSSE risk management by performing daily reviews on StepBack and Job Hazard Assessments (JHA).
  • Promote hazard identification and reporting, and identify unsafe working conditions and behaviors.
  • Monitor compliance with the permit to work system on work sites.
  • Ensure the emergency response preparedness plan is fully implemented; ensure employees are aware of emergency protocols and participate in ERP drills as per schedules.
  • Perform Level 1 HSSE inspections as per the project HSSE Plan and report findings to the HSSE supervisor/manager.
  • Ensure employees have relevant competencies and certification to perform their work (e.g., crane drivers, equipment operators).
  • Report incidents promptly, preserve the incident area and support investigations to gather required data.
  • Ensure toolbox talks are conducted in applicable languages and report shortfalls to the HSSE Supervisor/Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold an NVQ or NFQ Level 3 Qualification; IOSH; OSHA 30. Additionally, you should have strong hands-on experience in field-based risk management, with the ability to identify and act on unsafe conditions or behaviors.
