• The Team Leader will oversee a multidisciplinary mental health team within the SCHN Mental Health Service, focusing on reducing deaths by suicide and suicide attempts through an alternative to emergency department care.
The goal is to provide non-clinical support services using a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach. This includes working with peer workers who have lived experience of suicide, as well as connecting individuals and families to support services that address underlying factors contributing to their distress.
This role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of specialist suicide prevention services and other initiatives across the network.
• Tertiary qualifications and relevant professional registration are required.
• Proven clinical experience in working with people experiencing suicidality and their key support people
• Understanding of person-centred care, trauma-informed care, and recovery principles, as well as working with Aboriginal people in a holistic manner.
• Leadership, organisational skills, and experience in management or project management.
• Excellent communication skills in various settings, including written and verbal communication, and computer skills.
• Ability to work shift work, including after-hours and weekends as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and manage service systems and performance, collect and analyse data.
