About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • CARRY OUT MINOR INVESTIGATIONS AND ASSIST WITH ALL TYPES OF MAINTENANCE WORK REQUESTS ON COUNCIL BUILDINGS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: LOCKSMITH WORKS, TILING, PAINTING, CLEANING, PLASTERING, TIMBER FRAMING AND OTHER MINOR BUILDING MAINTENANCE TASKS AS DIRECTED.
  • ADDITIONALLY CARRY OUT AND ASSIST WITH MAINTENANCE WORKS ON FURNITURE AND FACILITIES, INCLUDING CARPENTRY, JOINERY, CABINET MAKING, PAINTING, GLAZING, PLASTERING, DEMOLITION AND OTHER TASKS DIRECTED BY THE SUPERVISOR.
Requirements
  • PROFICIENT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE WITH GENERAL CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES, INCLUDING SAFETY REQUIREMENTS ON THE WORK SITE.
  • ABLE TO DRAW ON TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE TO SOLVE WORK SITE PROBLEMS AS PART OF A WORKING TEAM.
  • Aptitude in safe storage and handling of materials, tools and equipment.
  • Conducting building maintenance inspections and reports via various user-friendly reporting platforms.
  • Ensure all works are carried out to agreed standards and in accordance with the Council's expectations.
  • Construction white card, working at heights.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
