Care for the Elderly as a Registered Nurse

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to residents in our residential aged care home. You will work closely with the Care Manager and other healthcare professionals to deliver person-centered care that promotes the dignity, life, and spirituality of older people.

You will be responsible for providing direct clinical nursing care to residents, including assessing their needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of those plans.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will also act as a Team Leader, providing coaching, supervision, and guidance to the personal care team.

You will work in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues, and residents, closely following all policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A kind heart and genuine passion for providing high-quality care to the elderly;
  • Current AHPRA registration following completion of a Bachelor of Nursing or similar;
  • Thorough understanding of the Aged Care Legislation and Aged Care Quality Standards;
  • Demonstrated understanding of AN-ACC assessment processes;
  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of the aging process, particularly age-related health issues;
  • Strong coaching/training skills;
  • Effective conflict resolution skills with a high level of emotional intelligence;
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude;
  • Competent IT skills;
  • Willingness to apply for a Police Check and NDIS clearance;
