Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Safety Initiatives: Develop and implement effective safety strategies to minimize risks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Conduct Site Inductions: Provide comprehensive inductions to new workers, ensuring they understand our safety protocols and procedures.
  • Review and Approve SWMS: Evaluate and approve contractors' Safe Work Method Statements to ensure they meet our safety standards.
  • Oversee Site Safety Operations: Conduct regular site inspections, safety meetings, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Maintain WHS Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of safety incidents, near misses, and safety training.
  • Promote Safety Culture: Foster a positive safety culture across our organization, promoting a safety-first mindset among employees and contractors.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years' experience in WHS in the Australian construction industry, preferably with exposure to large residential projects.
  • Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in WHS or a related field.
