A key strategic pillar is to grow market share in the management of client built assets, focusing on digital and human innovation. We seek an expert to play a lead role in driving growth in the VIC civil asset management market.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Developing focused pursuit strategies within asset management.
  • Coordinating and managing internal specialist teams.
  • Delivering and managing state-of-the-art technology based investigations, condition assessments and remaining service life evaluations of major structural elements of road, rail and civil infrastructure assets including tunnels, bridges, utilities and critical assets;
  • Managing inspection teams and projects to meet program and quality targets while exceeding client expectations;
  • Creating asset management options e.g. for service life extension or replacement, including whole of life cost and value analysis, and converting the options into detailed solutions for consideration by clients;
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to asset management project team members while building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Leveraging existing and fostering new client relationships to grow asset management portfolio;
  • Growing client base and subsequently growing asset management team, to service clients' needs; and
  • Becoming a trusted advisor for clients within the asset management industry.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering (Civil/Structural) or material science discipline;
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering and asset management;
  • Ability to provide technical expertise through consultative support and effective communication to clients and stakeholders;
  • Ability to lead, manage, mentor and develop small to medium scale, diverse project teams;
  • Experience working on asset management consultancy activities for major Australian infrastructure assets and with relevant Australian Standards;
  • Excellent report writing skills with experience in delivering investigation and asset management reports for major government and private infrastructure asset owners;
  • Excellent verbal communications skills with the ability to present investigation and remedial concepts to engineers, contractors, clients and technical reviewers, as well as the ability to influence project wide discussions;
  • Chartered status and relevant experience with TfNSW, VicRoads, TMR, MRWA, DIT, port or airport authority assets will be highly regarded.
