Therapeutic Specialist Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, and disrupted attachment. You will be part of a team that provides therapeutic services and contributes to the service system that supports these children.

The Therapeutic Specialists Program is dedicated to delivering evidence-based holistic approaches, such as the Teaching Family Model (TFM), which focuses on teaching age-appropriate social skills, problem-solving, and self-determination in a family-style group setting. The program also utilizes Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to prevent and de-escalate crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a clinical team and oversee clinical activities across the TRC program, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to relevant guidelines.
  • Support the clinical delivery of program activities and ensure effective management of referrals, assessments, interventions, and system support practices.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders and manage risk and safety in clinical practice and work environments.
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of trauma's impact on mental health, attachment, and development, with the ability to educate others on these issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality clinical assessments and interventions for children, young people, and families, aligned with service outcomes.
  • Capable of supervising clinical work, supporting staff development, and ensuring quality service delivery.
  • In-depth understanding of residential care settings and relevant guidelines.
  • Bachelor-level qualification in Health or Welfare relevant fields.
