Job Title: Electrical Engineer for Power

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer for Power to lead our power generation facilities' operations and maintenance at our 4,400-acre facility in Alice Springs, Australia.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the operations and maintenance of the site's Conditioned Power Plant (CPP) Manager and all facility equipment supporting critical site operations. This includes managing Work Orders, formulating and enforcing operational and maintenance standards, and orchestrating activities to align with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the operations and maintenance of the site's CPP Manager and all facility equipment.
  • Manage Work Orders, including resource management and interfacing with customer representatives.
  • Formulate and enforce operational and maintenance standards that support company objectives, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Orchestrate activities to align with contract requirements and ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Guarantee the continuity of critical infrastructure operations and commit to reliability for around-the-clock mission support.
  • Execute thorough evaluations of facilities to guide the prioritization of key upgrade projects and enhancements for energy management and automation.
  • Implement work processes and leverage data analysis to assist clients with achieving reliable equipment performance at cost-effective rates.
  • Draft comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse teams, respond to questions, and solve operational issues.
  • Apply corporate standards diligently and uphold strict adherence to environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep a close watch on contractual obligations and stay informed of any regulatory changes that impact facility operations.
Requirements:
  • Possess an active TS/SCI with adjudicated CI polygraph or Host Nation TS/PV clearance.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, or be a professionally licensed Electrical Engineer.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in medium and low voltage distribution; experience with high voltage distribution and frequency conversion equipment.
  • Experience working in secured/restricted areas, data centers, performing configuration management activities, and knowledge of the Uptime Institute Tier configuration topologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and experience with the concepts, design, and engineering of electrical power distribution from both power generation and public utility power to rack-mounted equipment.
  • A thorough understanding of SCADA systems and Building Management Systems.
  • Experience working in 24x7x365 mission-critical environments where continuous availability is essential and of the highest priority.
  • Ability to read construction design and equipment drawings.
  • Knowledge of process improvement models (e.g., LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000).
  • Experience in operations management for large physical plants including 4160 KV, 480 KV, RUPS (including large battery systems), diesel generators, chillers, cooling towers, VAV and volume air handlers, fuel storage systems and related equipment in support of a high-reliability environment.
  • Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Response Procedures.
  • Knowledge in MEP concepts of operation, and electrical generation procedures.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with excellent organizational and leadership capabilities.
