Cybersecurity Operations Role Overview

Award-winning Oracle is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Operations Specialist to join our team. As a Cybersecurity Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring event queues using security management tools, identifying and investigating correlated events, and collaborating with multiple teams on security and operational incidents within a globally distributed team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Monitoring and Investigation: Utilize security management tools to monitor incoming event queues, identify, categorize, and prioritize correlated events, and perform thorough investigations and triage of events and incidents.
  • Incident Response and Communication: Collaborate with multiple teams on security and operational incidents, communicate and coordinate effectively, and escalate incidents according to established SOPs.
  • Reporting and Dashboard Development: Develop reports, dashboards, real-time rules, and filters on a large-scale system to provide actionable insights and enhance decision-making.
  • Procedure Development and Documentation: Develop, iterate, and document event and incident procedures, long-term analysis, investigation processes, and reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in event generation and monitoring platforms and work with engineering teams to implement enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity Operations, preferably in a cloud-based environment, such as OCI.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools, including rule and signature configuration and tuning, and experience with Linux-based operating systems.
  • Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, a critical and considerate eye for detail, and experience in leading or coordinating team actions or shifts.
