Job Opportunity: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced mechanical engineer to join our team in Adelaide. In this role, you will provide technical support in engineering and design processes for oil and gas pipelines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Providing technical support in engineering and design processes for oil and gas pipelines.
  2. Developing and supporting FEED and concept design studies, including detailed design calculations.
  3. Assisting in developing scoping documents such as routing studies, construction methodology, design criteria, and pipeline alignment sheets.
  4. Participating in risk assessments and related workshops.
  5. Preparing and supporting cost estimates, equipment summaries, and tender packages.
  6. Preparing piping and pressure vessel design documents, and analyzing static equipment.
  7. Conducting mechanical engineering design and documentation from concept through to construction.
  8. Writing technical reports as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, with relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in mechanical engineering, especially pipeline design, piping, pressure vessels, and static equipment analysis.
  • Proven experience in Australian oil and gas pipeline projects, including concept, FEED, and detailed design phases.
  • Knowledge of AS2885 and other relevant Australian standards, acts, and regulations.
  • Progress towards or achievement of Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Australia.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects independently with conflicting deadlines.
  • Experience in oil and gas facilities or similar heavy industries.
  • Experience in developing and applying engineering standards, systems, and processes.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
