Pipeline Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Design Engineer to join our dynamic team of engineers. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the transition to renewable energy systems and decarbonisation.

About the Role
  • Provide technical support in engineering and design processes for oil and gas pipelines, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian standards, acts, and regulations.
  • Develop and support FEED and concept design studies, including detailed design calculations, to drive project success.
  • Assist in developing scoping documents such as routing studies, construction methodology, design criteria, and pipeline alignment sheets to inform project planning.
  • Participate in risk assessments and related workshops to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Prepare and support cost estimates, equipment summaries, and tender packages to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Prepare piping and pressure vessel design documents, and analyze static equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct mechanical engineering design and documentation from concept through to construction to deliver high-quality results.
  • Write technical reports as needed to communicate complex ideas effectively.
Key Qualifications
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, with relevant experience in pipeline design.
  • 3-5 years' experience in mechanical engineering, especially pipeline design, piping, pressure vessels, and static equipment analysis.
  • Proven experience in Australian oil and gas pipeline projects, including concept, FEED, and detailed design phases.
  • Knowledge of AS2885 and other relevant Australian standards, acts, and regulations.
  • Progress towards or achievement of Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Australia.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects independently with conflicting deadlines.
  • Experience in oil and gas facilities or similar heavy industries.
  • Experience in developing and applying engineering standards, systems, and processes.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
